Opt-In Email Lists Shouldn't Be Overlooked

Instead of being at the mercy of incoming traffic to get the word out about products and services, those who create opt-in lists can contact potential buyers at any time. Since opt-in links involve a consensual sign-up process, visitors expect this form of contact. The ideas for marketing with these lists are almost endless. Should the content mailed out be of particular value or interest, it is very possible subscribers will pass it along without prompting. Either way, if the mails are forwarded along, the effort can result in a traffic increase and even a sales boost.

Taking the steps to increase a site's traffic without having a way to capitalize on it is not the best way to go. Some of the biggest companies with an online presence understand this and work hard to cultivate opt-in mailing lists. From newsletters and coupons to promotional materials about sales or new products, these companies use their lists to reach out and remind former visitors or customers of their products and services. The effort can and does result in more traffic, more visitors and even repeat sales. These lists don't require a huge amount of work considering the benefits they can deliver.
